IN GENERAL
The average temperature is 27 - 78°C.

There are two seasons: rainy season from May to October and dry season from November to April.

Hottest month is usually in April. Temperature can "climb" up to 40°C

The climate is affected by two moonsoons. The winter moonsoon comes from the Northeast between November and March, bringing a little bit chilly winter to this area. The summer moonsoon comes from Southwest between May and September, bringing hot and humid weather to whole area.

The summer moonsoon may bring heavy rains but these quite often occur in late evening and are unlikely to spoil your enjoyment.

The area rarely suffer storms.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

* Mid December to mid February: winter moonsoon bring cool weather to the whole area. A little bit cold at night and early morning. Cool in the morning and late afternoon. Mid February is the time Vietnamese celebrate traditional new year.

* May 5th of lunar calendar: tropical fruit season in Mekong delta, especially in Cho Lach district of Ben Tre province where a tropical fruit festival will be held and see a lot of local tourists. The best time to pluck the fruits on trees (mangosteen, pomelo, rambutan...) (May 5th of lunar calendar in 2012 is May 25th of solar calendar)

* Mid August to October: floating season. Mekong delta is in the world of water. Vegetation is blooming and fishes are coming in bulk, birds and storks fly densely above the sky and local people are busy and happy with many activities like fishing, plucking điên điển flowers (the flowers for sour soup)...
