There is no reason to stay in Ha Giang city. In fact, if you miss the
bus to Dong Van town of Dong Van district or Vinh Quang town of Huang Su
Phi district, you can stay here for one night
Most of the hotels are located on Nguyen Trai street (Pho Nguyen Trai)
and there is no number. Instead, local goverment uses "To + number" to
replace number.
The new bus station of the city is just about 2km from Nguyen Trai street.
There are two Internet shops on this street. 6,000VND/hour
With 150,000VND up (7USD), you can have a private room with A/C, cable Tivi, hot shower.
Local buses to Dong Van and Hoang Su Phi (and to Thai Nguyen province
then to Ba Be lake of Bak Can province) can pick you up at hotel.

B/ Dong Van town
The
town just has some gueshouses and standard hotels. They are usually
fully booked on Saturday and Sunday. So it's good to book room in
advance.
With 150,000VND up, you can have a basic room with fan, old Tivi, hot shower
With 300,000VD, your room is bigger and nicer with friendly English speaking staff
3/2 street connecting to 19/5 street is the main street running along the center of the town. Most guesthouses and hotels are located on these streets
Its
getting cold in the evening, especially in winter. Electricity
sometimes will be cut off . Most hotels have no own generator, or if
they have, it just produce enough electricity for the light. So try to take a bath when the sun just goes down.
Room rate can be higher on Saturday and Sunday
