Most of Hanoi famous songs writing about the autumn when the weather is cool and the landscapes bring artists the feeling of creativity. Obviously, autumn which lasts from late September to the end of November, is the best time to visit Hanoi. Its also the time to take the train/bus from Vietnam capital to Sapa town, Mu Cang Chai, Hoang Su Phi of Northeastern and Northwestern provinces to see the golden terraced rice fields (September and October)
The Northeastern seasonal winds let us know that We are in winter which lasts from December till the beginning of February. The average temperature of this period is between 15 – 25oC. Sometimes, it drops down to under 10oC. End of this season, the weather is getting warmer and that’s the time Hanoi enters the Lunar New Year period. Most of tourists come to Hanoi at this time and then head straight to Northwest and Northeast mountainous areas where peach and plum flowers blooming everywhere.
Summer sees a lot of local tourists and the weather is quite hot and humid. Sometimes it soars up to 37 – 39oC.
