Saigon Public Bus Company was established in 1996 by Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee

   Therefore, get to know some useful Vietnamese words:

   Mã số tuyến: Bus route number 

   Tên tuyến: Route name (From where to where)

   Giờ khởi hành: Departure time



2/ Working hours: 5:00AM  - 9:00PM (some long route finish at 6:00PM)


3/ Price: 
    Under 18km: 5,000VND
    From 18km: 6,000VND
    

4/ A/C?
    Most of the buses have good A/C. Some buses are quite old and the A/C is not really good. 


5/ What you need
Bus station:
    Most of tourists stay in the center of Saigon, say in the backpacker area and Ben Thanh market area.

    Opposite the Ben Thanh market area, there is one large public bus station called "Tram Ben Thanh"

    From the Saigon backpacker area, its just a 7-minute walk to Tram Ben Thanh

    Some buses will depart from 23/9 park in the backpacker area


Popular bus route for tourists:

A/ Bus route number 1
 Ben Thanh bus station (Ben Thanh market) - Cho Lon bus station (Big market, China town, for shopping). 
 New blue bus with good A/C
 Travel time: about 35 minutes

 Note: From Cho Lon bus station, its a 5-minute walk to Big market


B/ Bus route number 39
    Ben Thanh bus station - Vo Van Kiet street - Mien Tay bus station (For taking bus to all provinces of Mekong delta)
    New green bus with good A/C
    Travel time: 45 minutes (17km)


C/ Bus route number 11
     23/9 park bus station (backpacker area) - Dam Sen waterpark (the largest waterpark of Saigon)
     Travel time: 40 minutes


D/ Bus route number 12
     Ben Thanh bus station - Giang Dien waterfall of Dong Nai province
     Travel time: about 1.5 hours


E/ Bus route number 13 + 79
     Bus station on Pham Ngu Lao street (Backpacker area) - Cu Chi bus station (For visiting Cu Chi tunnel)
     Travel time: 75 minutes (36km)

     Note: Arrive in Cu Chi bus station, take another bus number 79 to Cu Chi tunnel. This bus belongs to Quyet Tien company. Price: 6,000VND. Travel time: 40 minutes. The last bus departs at 5:00PM

    Bus route: 23/9 park - Lê Lai - Tôn Thất Tùng - Bùi Thị Xuân - Cống Quỳnh - Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai - Nguyễn Văn Cừ - Trần Hưng Đạo - Ben Thanh bus station - Huỳnh Thúc Kháng - Nguyễn Huệ - Lê Thánh Tôn - Pasteur - Lý Tự Trọng - Hai Bà Trưng - Nguyễn Du - Công xã Paris - Lê Duẩn - Đinh Tiên Hoàng - Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai - Phùng Khắc Khoan - Điện Biên Phủ - Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm - Nguyễn Đình Chiểu - Hoàng Sa bus sttation.



G/ Bus route number 61 to 66
     Ben Thanh bus station  - Dai Nam tourist complex (zoo, amusement theme park, hotel...)
     Travel time: 70 - 90 minutes
