Bui Vien, Pham Ngu Lao and De Tham streets along with a spider-like network of intersecting alleys constitute the Saigon's backpacker area

Bui Vien street and its alleys have countless family-run guesthouses (8 USD - 12 USD), many standard hotels (20 USD -28 USD) and some dorm beds (5 USD)

Pham Ngu Lao street has many standard and midrange hotels (18 USD to 55 USD up) as well as a lot of guesthouses. The street is really busy with a lot of transportation vehicles, so its quite noisy. Its alleys are a good choice for those seeking quiet accomodation. Alley 283 is hotel, guesthouse's alley and is worth looking around before making a decision to stay at the other places.

De Tham street has some standard hotels (25USD up) and many guesthouses (10 USD up)

Breakfast at standard hotels: 1 food (bread comes with fried eggs, jam, butter or noodle soup) 1 drink (coffee with/without milk, tea...)

Some midrange hotels offer breakfast buffet.

Note: Booking for standard and midrange hotels should be made in advance. They are often fully booked on Saturday, Sunday and holiday.
