To make the video, 33-year-old traveler and cameraman Bui Minh Tuan spent more than a month to ride along the country with his team. Tuan said he wanted to introduce Vietnam to not only foreigners but also his compatriots, who may find themselves surprised by how beautiful the country is. 

Vietnam likely to scrap visas for overseas Vietnamese, their foreign spouses

TuoiTreNews.vn - Vietnamese people who reside overseas, their foreign spouses and children are likely to enjoy a free-visa policy when entering Vietnam, as quick completion has been urged for a draft decree on the visa waiver. The Ministry of Public Security should speed up the preparation of the draft decree on scrapping visas for Vietnamese people residing overseas, and submit it to the government by August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh requested Wednesday. If the decree is finalized and takes effect, overseas Vietnamese will not have to apply for a visa when returning to their home country.

7‑Eleven set to open stores in Vietnam

31,000 soldiers on standby to cope with floods in northern Vietnam

TuoiTreNews.vn - The Vietnamese military has put 31,000 soldiers on standby for activities to deal with floods that are spreading in northern Vietnam after  killing 17 people  in Quang Ninh Province, a senior official has said. Colonel Vu The Chien, deputy chief of the secretariat of the National Committee for Search and Rescue, made the statement during an online meeting on Thursday related to the floods. Accordingly, the Vietnam People’s Army has set up a plan to deploy about 31,000 soldiers and 860 vehicles to help authorities and residents in northern provinces to deal with the flooding that has been caused by prolonged heavy rain there.

Broiling heat of almost 41°C hits central Vietnam

Tuoitrenews.vn - Scorching weather is raging in both northern and central Vietnam, with temperatures reaching 40.8 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the National Center for Hydro-Metrological Forecasting reported on Friday.
