The multimillion-dollar VIP terminal at Da Nang International Airport, covering 4,200 square meters, will be built to welcome VIP and diplomatic guests visiting the city to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2017, according to the central government’s decision, which was announced by the Ministry of Transport and Da Nang authorities on Saturday.

Uber offers helicopter rides for tourism in Vietnam

ThanhNienNews.com - The US transportation network company Uber has started offering helicopter tourism tours in Da Nang, Vietnam’s first destination for its new service UberChopper. Uber Vietnam offered free 15-minute rides to 20 users on the first day of the service Saturday, carrying them from Nuoc Man Airport over the central city’s most famous places including Ngu Hanh Son Mount, the Han River, Son Tra Peninsula and My Khe beach.

Vietnamese wildlife conservationist named among world's top ten

Le Thi Trang often feels she lives a dangerous life.  An engineer by training, she now works as a wildlife conservationist and  spends many nights in remote jungles to collect data about poaching and trafficking activities.  The most scary part, she says, is being hunted down by agitated poachers.   But she says it's all worth it.  “I have always loved animals since I was a child,” Trang said in a Tien Phong newspaper report. “There were times we had to spend a whole month in the Central Highlands to keep track of a species. We had to spend the night to get close to them. “The animals were not scared of us, they even teased us. It’s hard work but it’s fun.” Her work, including many field trips to the primate conservation peninsular Son Tra in Da Nang, has earned her a place in the world's top ten young conservationists. TripAdvisor names Vietnam’s Da Nang world’s top emerging destination

Da Nang City in central Vietnam has led the “World’s Destinations on the Rise" category of the 2014 Travelers’ Choice Awards given by travel site TripAdvisor. The city beat nine other destinations around the world to rank first, including Sihanoukville (Cambodia), Limassol (Cyprus), Ao Nang (Thailand), Bodrum City (Turkey), Naha (Japan), Hurghada (Egypt), Kazan (Russia), Manaus (Brazil), and Eilat (Israel) – listed in descending order.
