TuoiTreNews.vn - Temperatures reached a record 41.5 degrees Celsius in the north-central province of Nghe An on Friday as scorching weather continued raging central Vietnam.
The scorching heat harmed the province’s Tay Hieu Commune and Quy Hop District.
Other areas in Vietnam’s central and northern regions have been ‘baked’ under the average temperatures of 39-40 degrees Celsius.

The northern province Hoa Binh has suffered temperatures of 40.6 degrees Celsius in the past two days.
Other ‘hottest’ localities in Vietnam include Nhu Xuan District in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa (41.4oC), Dong Ha City in the central province of Quang Tri (40.3oC), Hanoi’s Lang (40.3oC), and Nho Quan District in the northern province of Ninh Binh (40.8oC).
The “real feel” temperatures could be even 3-5 degrees higher since the levels were measured inside hydro-meteorological stations.
Earlier this week, temperatures in the northern and central regions averaged 36-40 degrees Celsius.
It is forecast that temperatures in these areas will slightly go down in a couple of days before rising up again from June 2.
Vietnam is forecast to have some spells of hot temperature in June, according to the Central Hydro-Meteorological Center.
