ThanhNienNews.com - One of the two runways at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat Airport will be shut down for four days starting this Thursday for repairs, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam announced on Tuesday.

Lightning struck the runway on June 30, damaging a total area of around 10 square meters, it said.
During the repair period, the country's largest airport will be able to serve only 30 flights per hour compared to 35 flights at the moment, CAAV said, ordering related agencies to collaborate in guaranteeing security then.
The agency also asked airlines to prepare for possibilities that their aircraft may have to wait longer to take off or land.
