Vietjet flies to Yangon



Vietnam budget carrier Vietjet Air will launch flight service between Myanmar and Vietnam from October this year, according to an official announcement released by the airline.

The route between Yangon and Ho Chi Minh will commence service on October 2 and will operate five (5) return flights per week, scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with an estimated flying time of around 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The flight departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 10:25am and arrives in Yangon at 12:10pm. The return flight takes off from Yangon at 1pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 3:35pm.

To mark the launch of the flight route, Vietjet Air is selling tickets at cheap flights to Yangon, a special price for its newest route from 11:30am to 1:30pm (Myanmar time) everyday from July 24 to July 29.

Currently only Vietnam Airlines services Yangon with three (3) flights a week from Ho Chi Minh, five (5) flights a week from Hanoi.

Vietjet operates 180 flights daily using a fleet of 27 Airbus aircraft. In Vietnam, Vietjet connects Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Danang with points in Asia including Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Siem Reap, Yangon and Hangzhou.The airline has transported 15 million passengers since it was formed in 2011.
